It's official

I know, two posts in one day, wtf mate?! This one is short though. I got my first response from a law school .... *drum roll* .... I got in! The University of Akron has accpeted me. This was a fallback school of sorts, since Akron doesn't seem all that exciting, but it was free to apply and they have a good IP center. It is nice to know that I got in somewhere, and it is a barometer for my pending admission to other schools, since, contrary to what I said in an earlier post, their admission standards slightly higher than LSU's and DePaul's. For all that care to know, they received over 2000 applications for 183 entering students

You're right...Akron's not that exciting. BUT, it's a stone's throw away from Cleveland, and there is definitely something to be said about that.

Congrats, Matt! Very exciting news!

yeah, but do you REALLY want to live in Ohio? (no offense Dave, but i'm pretty sure you've renounced your ohio-nativeness anyhow...)

Just so you know, I have it from reliable sources that Akron kind of blows (not the school, the location) and that if you want to do anything you can go to Cleveland. BUT, my sources point out that it won't offer you much of a distraction so you'll be able to study a lot! And the football hall of fame is close, so that's cool, too.

Yeah, I don't imagine that it would be incredibly exciting. Then again, I really don't play on going there. Though, there is certainly something to be said for the pro football hall of fame.

Kind of? If it blew any harder, Youngstown would end up in Pennsylvania. Not to mention the heterosexuality you would lose rooting for the Zips (who, along with Vanderbilt, are among the elite rank of football teams that have lost to MTSU).
Go Browns!!!
(On a side note, as of March 25, I have now lived in Tennessee longer than Ohio, so the opinions expressed above may be null and void.)

yeh, but don't ask me. i made my decision partially based on the status of both 'cheese' and 'football' of the schools i was picking from. in those two categories, wisconsin was an easy pick :)

Congrats Matt!!! And no worries about Akron...still way better than Wichita :)

Ha, yeah, Wichita sounds like a blast. At any rate, I should be hearing back from DePaul and LSU within the next couple of weeks, so, hopefully, this discussion regarding Akron is academic :p.
